Marc Wullschleger joined Isler & Pedrazzini AG in 2015 and became a partner of the firm in 2022. He regularly represents clients in all trademark prosecution matters as well as opposition proceedings and cancellation actions before the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE) and the Swiss Federal Administrative Court. Marc Wullschleger also appears in domain name dispute proceedings (UDRP) before WIPO.
Marc Wullschleger’s practice covers all aspects of trademark law (including companies and domains) and ranges from conducting availability searches, filing and prosecution of Swiss and international trademark applications, strategic advice in developing and strengthening trademark portfolios, worldwide watch and enforcement of trademarks to consultancy with respect to the use of geographical indications, in particular with respect to Swissness. He has also vast experience in combating cross-border counterfeiting and piracy activities, customs seizures and trademark transactions in various industrialized, emerging and developing economies. In addition, Marc Wullschleger advises in copyright matters (moral rights, copyrights of architects, copyright infringements, especially in the Internet) and contracts. He authors and edits co-existence, license, assignment, sponsoring and confidentiality agreements.
Marc Wullschleger graduated from the Universities of Lucerne (B.A., 2007) and Bern (J.D, 2009; Ph.D., 2014), took the Bar Exam in Bern (2015) and is admitted to practice before all courts in Switzerland. Before joining Isler & Pedrazzini, he worked as a junior associate with a renowned Swiss intellectual property boutique law firm, clerked at the Commercial Court of the Canton of Bern and enforced criminal law at the District Attorney’s Office of the Canton of Aargau. He was also a research fellow with a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) founded research project focusing on third party liability in Intellectual Property law and served as a teaching assistant to Prof. Cyrill P. Rigamonti, Institute for Economic Law, University of Bern. During that time, Marc Wullschleger wrote a doctoral thesis on the enforcement of copyrights in the Internet.
Since 2016, Marc Wullschleger has been an editor with the Swiss intellectual property law journal (sic!) and regularly publishes his works there. In 2019, he joined also the copyright team of MARQUES. Since 2023, Marc Wullschleger has been president of the association STOP PIRACY, which is committed to combating counterfeiting.
Marc Wullschleger’s commitment has been recognized by professional colleagues and clients in various industry journals, including Leader’s League (Leading in Trademark Law) and Managing Intellectual Property (IP Rising Star in Trademark Law 2021-2024).
