Lorena Piticco studied chemistry at ETH Zurich. She soon realized that she was at least as fascinated by physics as she was by chemistry. During her subsequent research for her doctorate at ETH Zurich and during a post-doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley, she specialized in molecular physics, working on high-resolution molecular spectroscopy and investigating fast molecular processes using laser spectroscopy.
Lorena Piticco has been working at Isler & Pedrazzini AG since 2013. After her admission as a European Patent Attorney in 2017 and her entry in the Swiss Patent Attorney Register in 2018, she obtained the diploma “Patent Litigation in Europe” from the University of Strasbourg in 2019, which qualifies her to represent clients directly before the Unified Patent Court of the EU. In 2023 Lorena Piticco became a partner of Isler & Pedrazzini AG.
In patent matters, Lorena Piticco feels at home in diverse areas of mechanics, mechanical engineering, material sciences, consumer goods and sensor technology. In addition, she of course continues to be interested in chemistry and related fields, and she has also gained a wide range of experience in design law.
From 2018 to 2024, Lorena Piticco passed on her extensive knowledge of patent, trademark and design law in lectures at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland (OST) in St. Gallen. She has been a part-time technical judge at the Federal Patent Court in St. Gallen since 2024.
