Harry Frischknecht has worked as a patent attorney at Isler & Pedrazzini AG since 2005 and has been a partner at the firm since 2015. From 2016 to 2020 he headed the patent department; since 2020 he has been Managing Partner of Isler & Pedrazzini AG.
Harry Frischknecht manages international patent portfolios for well-known global industrial companies, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, construction equipment and electrical connectors. His consulting activities focus on obtaining and enforcing patents and designs. He has extensive experience in examination proceedings in the most important industrialized nations. He also regularly advises his clients on the handling of third party intellectual property rights and of infringements by competitors.
Harry Frischknecht studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil (HSR) and completed his studies with a diploma thesis at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. He also successfully completed a postgraduate degree in business administration. After being admitted as a European Patent Attorney, he obtained the diploma “Patent Litigation in Europe” from the University of Strasbourg, which enables him to represent clients before the Unified Patent Court of the EU.
Harry Frischknecht has been President of the Association of Swiss Patent and Trademark Attorneys (VSP/ASPTA) since 2018 and has been a member of its Board since 2014. He is also an examiner for the patent attorney examination in Switzerland.
Within the framework of the programs in mechanical engineering/innovation and industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland (OST) in Rapperswil, Harry Frischknecht has been teaching intellectual property law to future engineers since 2011.
Harry Frischknecht is also an active member of CET Group 2 of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI). CET Group 2 deals with internationally relevant questions of design law.
