Between her Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, an internship at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen gave her the opportunity to get to know the exciting world of large-scale research facilities.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She continued her scientific career with a doctorate at ETH Zurich from 2014 to 2018 in the field of solid-state laser development, frequency comb generation and nonlinear optics, and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the University of Vienna in the field of fiber laser development, laser amplifiers and crystalline mirror technology. Both during her doctorate and as a postdoctoral researcher, she was in close contact with industrial partners and start-ups as part of her applied research activities.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her desire to combine her specialist knowledge with her enthusiasm for languages and to work at the interface between research, product development and business ultimately led her to Isler & Pedrazzini AG, where she has been working as a patent attorney trainee since 2021, as a European Patent Attorney since her admission in 2024 and as a Swiss Patent Attorney since her entry in the Swiss Patent Attorney Register in 2025. Since 2025, Aline Mayer is passing on her knowledge of patent, trademark and design law in lectures at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland (OST) in St. Gallen.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Aline Mayer likes to take an in-depth look at the technologies and needs of her clients.
